FE-1s How long is needed to prepare???

I'm thinking of sitting the FE-1s in October 2009. I was wondering if its possible to sit all 8 if I study for June, July, Aug, Sep or is that just too much work? I wouldn't be working or anything so I would have a bit of extra time and will have a law degree. Bearing that in mind how much time do people generally allocate to each subject, hours study per day/week etc.

I am prepared to work hard but I don't want to be hiding under a rock(it is Summer!!). I know I can sit a few in April but will probably be doing a postgrad so dont think I can dedicate too much time to FE-1s coming up to that time of year, but feel I can take the early stages of a postgrad lightly for the FE-1s in October.

Just want to get an idea of how long in advance people prepare for them. I might do a revision course for some of the subjects.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i was in the same situation as you, sat all 8 last oct and passed 7! it can be done but you've got to be prepared for committing yourself fully and it was the hardest ive ever studied for any exam my whole life!I came from finishing my law finals in may, took 2weeks off and started studying in June monday - friday 10-6 and sat mornings. Its tough but if you're not working and have no other committments then you might as well do the 8, if you're prepared for the work then you stand to gain more than you lose.

look at it this way, even if you fail some at least you've got the bulk of the work done for the 2nd sitting and there's the off chance that you may get them all!

I tackled it like a full time job and did my study during the days but definitely went out at weekends even managed to squeeze in a weekend break!as long as you've the willpower to get up and do productive study the next day you should be ok

I did much the same as this poster but started when the Griffith prep. course started (which I think was April) but I had no law background at all-hadn't a clue.

Luckily I passed all 8 so it is doable but I worked very hard.

When do you have to applied for each subject you want to sit? I couldnt see anything on the lawsociety website.

Probably go for the 8 and give it a good shot cos if I leave to many til April i'll end up putting myself under too much pressure during the masters.
