Ha, one of my lens has a retail price of €4951. Now if I could get anything near that I would be a very happy person.

    :(
the nikon D700 went up from £1536 to £1799 in Jessops...
    D300 from 899 to 999
50mm af-s f/1.4 is 299 now, and I was thinking about it when it was cheap....

I think Nikon are shooting themselves in the foot. I was thinking about upgrading my D50 and getting a D90, but a Canon 40D is looking very appealing now... It's nearly 100 euro less when bought from Jessops in Sterling.

The price increases are because of the low value of sterling in recent times. As shops buy new stock they have to pay more for them resulting in higher prices.

The last few weeks have been a great time to buy items priced in sterling and there are still some bargains out there.

I was reading somewhere else that the camera prices could go up as much as 20% this January because of the fall in the value of sterling.
