where to stay on the west coast??

    myself and a few mates are heading to the us on a j1 this summer. plan to be on the west coast for june and july.
    anyone recommend where to stay? also any recommendations on where/how to rent a house?
    there will probably be 6 of us so we will squeeze into a small place if needs be.
    how much should we expect to pay?
    also is there a minimum rental period?like 3 months or something
    also we will be all looking to get full time jobs, any recommendations on that too??

    You cant really tell how much you would pay on rent until you have narrowed down where you want to stay on the west coast. Its a massive place and everything varies hugely. One of the main problems you will have in finding somewhere to stay is that the minimum lease is usually a year. As for places to stay check out a couple of the bigger J1 threads already here. There is some good suggestions
