Hi just wondering could any1 help me, i want to get a bigger car - currently driving a skoda fabia - mainly bigger boot space as recently had baby. I was thinking of getting a skoda octavia as the fabia has been a good reliable car. Is there any other makes that are reliable with boot space (how long is a piece of string!) Also what shud i ask for pricewise for an 00 fabia in pretty gud condition (iv heard all d skoda jokes so no need to start!):D

If the Fabia is in decent condition, with average milage and has a decent length nct I'd say between 1400-2000e.

Octavia is a great choice, but if you dont want to spend anything look at a Primera or Carisma.

I'd recommend a Ford Focus. I drive one and we're expecting our first baby. The boot is very big and it's a great car to drive with good reliability. Only problem is that they don't come with isofix as standard (little anchors under the seats which can be used for isofix-compatible baby seats).

can anyone tell me are these any good.I'm useless don't know anything about cars, except how to drive and thats debatable!
Are these octavia's relatively good on fuel and what would the tax be roughly on this? Are they reasonable priced?

The real value of your car is 800 to 1200. Its not a car that sells well secondhand , even in the good times.

That 1.4 engine in the skoda has known problems. I'd stay away from skoda/vw if buying a petrol car.

    Good luck with your search.
Also they are a pig on fuel

mainly bigger boot space as recently had baby.

Congratulations on the new arrival, but I don't think you are supposed to keep them in the boot : )
