    Sounds lovely and I had a situation where I was able to switch the polar patterns remotely while listening to the mic. Very interesting to hear subtle yet useful differences. Big fan of the Pleuso company.

    @Dav, it say's it's a vacume tube. So it's not the whole hoover. I think it's just the nozzle.

    A polar pattern is the "shape" of the microphone's pick-up, how sensitive it is to sound from different direction. For instance most hand held microphones don't pick up so well from behind. Have a quick scan of the wiki article and come back if you need to know more.

    In the case of me using it the other day, I was changing it to get more or less of the sound of the room into the recording.
