    Hello all,

I have had a scan through the stickies and cant find the info I am looking for....

    Here is the story.....

I purchased a Sky Box (with Irish card and UK FTA card) from adverts.ie

Got it all set up yesterday, inserted the Irish card and was getting the Irish EPG and all the channels.

Today.....Nothing. got in contact with the seller and he tells me that the Irish was a cancelled Multi Room Sub, cancelled about 7-10 days ago.

I am guessing that explains the fact it is now not working. My question is, is there any way to get it working again? Or is it now useless?

    Cheers for any help.

The only way to get it to work again is to take out a new sub with Sky. If you do this you'd be better off getting them to install new equipment for small money as a new customer. Did you buy the Irish card knowing the card would die?

It will just do the free channels. Only the UKFTV card is much use (to do UK EPG). In fact there is mostly no need for the FTV card any more as C4 and Five are/have/will be totally FTA.

A mirror sub card is no use at all to anyone other than the holder of the "main" card.

The card is also not his to sell but the property of Sky/NDS and must be returned if requested (they never have ).

Sky will issue a new card free to existing Sky box with a new subscription, No need to buy an install.

However there are plenty of good free channels
You can set up favorites and press Guide then "Blue/Purple" and have an EPG of up to 50 free channels.

The Sky Digibox receives all the free channels without a card.

However if the EPG is Irish, some channels have to be added manually. See stickies about adding channels and how to get UK Program Guide (which has all the free channels).

RTE, TG4, TV3 are subscription only.

It states cleary in the ad, and in one of the comments that the card was a cancelled card. You might have read it wrong.
