Nice to see some old faces back, but shame about Tony's allegiances. 100% completely and utterly predictable, and bloody disappointing. 1st hour wasn't bad, but 2nd hour was very dull.

Gotta love Jack's "this is going to hurt" :)

I loved the escaping from the FBI building scenes, but apart from that, I thought it was pretty average stuff

I'm hoping it's the opposite from series 6 though that started off great, but then became crap

Yep, definitely the best moment of both episodes :). I also liked Jack's comment to
    Bill
about handing them over to the FBI himself if they are screwing with him... Jack is a great friend to have, unless if you're a threat to national security, in which case he'll probably shoot you himself...

TBH, though Tony's allegiance was indeed predictable, but I'm happier it went that way - Tony was always built up as a trustworthy, good friend of Jack and regardless of everything that has happened to him, he wouldn't just cross over to the "dark side" that easily. It just seems more consistent for him to act this way IMO.

Second episode was definitely slower, though as always, it was nice to see Jack kick some ass :D. Plus if this pans out like every other season, the real bombshells won't come until around the mid-season point, after a number of other twists... Still looking forward to next week...

Much better stuff than the opening for me.

yes, Tony was predicable as hell but it was good stuff all the same.

    Roll on hour5

tony looks like George Michael all the time.. and that beige trench. couldn't wait to see that in the bin... and did I spot a first David Caruso moment.

and Renee Walker just got a taste of the evil forces.. I expect great things from her. :D and maybe a new Audrey for Jack ????

    enjoyed it.

I liked the Chloe Rev1.0 Vs Chloe Rev2.0 battle (which incidentally took the form of Apple Vs Dell too), with Chloe Rev1.0 (Apple) obviously winning out.

Bill, Chloe and Tony, working rogue to identify traitors in the Whitehouse. A bit strange, but doable.

The server room scene seemed all too familiar. What's the server room body count up to now, about a hundred? Still, they were making that guy out to be all too suspicious and obvious to actually be a mole, which is classic 24 stuff.

Jack and Tony escaping was good, especially Jack's little line when he was upside down in the car. The FBI being unable to lock down their own building, was again classic 24 stuff. Seems the FBI are every bit as incompetent as CTU ever was.

I think this season is great so far, really getting into it!
Its a way better start than seasons 5 and 6.

I suspected Tony would turn, but i didnt think it would be so soon.

The FBI are a bit annoying, but i always find the new characters each season annoying until i get used to them. Except for Walker who is good, Gun in the wound, vicious!

Think i will have to wait a few weeks to watch it again, and watch 3 or 4 episodes in a row!

I say that every year, but never do. Once you have it there, you'll want to watch it. Plus, if you have Sky One, there'll be spoilerific 10 minute ads running the whole time on it, which are guaranteed to show something you really didn't want to see, until you were actually watching it. They do that every year.

I thought it was great stuff. It's slowly building up. I liked the scene when Jack was in the basement, a lot of tension there and he found a great way out. "You need good men, not like these two traffic cops" PMSL :D

And of course breaking out of FBI headquarters was good.

Great to see Bill the Badger and Chloe the Cypher again.

I was going to make that point. Tony was always an upstanding guy. It would have betrayed his character if he didn't turn out to be undercover. As it is, he went rogue for a while which is fine with me.

Left me wanting more which is always a sign 24 is in the groove.

I actually didn't see the Tony turnaround coming!

I like diversity in 24's criminals but I struggle to see how some backward African general could have pulled this kind of **** off! I know they tried to explain it wih diamonds but still...

Apart from that it has been great. Better than the opening two. However I was also very pleased with the opening to Day6 which turned out to be average by 24 standars at least.

I doubt the African general has masterminded any of the it, he is just following orders i'll bet, like most seasons of 24, we more than likely havent seen the main villian yet, unless you watched Redemption then you know its probably
    Jon Voight

    I saw Redemption alright.

However I can't see the person in question having anything to do with the stealing the chip.

I don't see how he gains, I am sure he will be in it in some form or another but I would almost rule out the idea that he wanted it in the hands of terrorists.

Well I think he is a conspirator in something to do with Sangala.

Its hard to know how it will play out yet!

    Oh god, Chloe's back. :(

Hard to decide who's more annoying, her or new her FBI equivalent. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially seeing the effect of being in Jack's company for a couple of hours can have on the morals of a by-the-book FBI agent. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,132 ✭✭✭silvine

Anyone think it would have been better it Tony was still evil and Jack turned him half-way through or something?

Good episode. Jackie Baeur put torture back on the menu too. I wonder will we see any former presidents reappear?

Thought she went evil a bit fast. I mean, it took Jack having his family threatened before he was driven to extremes, she seems to be naturally predisposed towards violence.

Think it's all gone a bit meh already though. So far the only decent bits were the FBI garage escape and the kidnap at the very start of ep 1. Thought with the scrapping of CTU it might move on to new ground a bit, but now it seems like it's just Super Best Friends save the world.

Still, it's early days yet, plenty of time for it to pick up, hopefully.

You guys are hard to impress, I'm really enjoying this! Okay, I agree that Tony's allegiance was confirmed a little too quickly, but at least he wasn't undercover all along.

That's exactly what I thought. The 3 of them going it alone against the "system" seems a bit over the top. Other than that I enjoyed ep's 3 and 4.

I wish RTÉ would at least show double episodes at some stage. I base my 9 for Hour 3. Really brought the team back together is a good way. :) Jack is back with CTU :) when's the ring tone coming back :)
