    Folks,

A thought popped into my head (I know, I know, thinking can be dangerous :p )

In anyway, as a novice I was trying to contact my local club over the last while in regards to membership etc and not one reply. I am not from around the area and most of the time I go golfing I am heading out with people that don't know the rules etc and I would imagine I am picking up bad habbits and the likes. Back to the club issue, to get a handicap a member from the club has to sign the card but if I am out on my own or with non-members I can't get it signed by a member so it got me thinking.

What if we had a teach/learn day on Boards?

i.e. Lets say 40 of us to decide to head out for a round one day (30 Experienced golfers and 10 Novices) Team them up so that you have a balance of 3 experienced and 1 novice in a four ball. The more experienced can help out the novices and it might entice a few more people to get into golf and join clubs etc?

    What do you guys think?

Great idea man. logistically might be a bit of a mare trying to set up, as experienced by the boards golf day, sorry, that sounds incredibly negitive, but If you can organise it i'll play no worries, may be it could be linked to a boards event day out type thing.:p

Well I always find people will travel for cheap green fees. :P

Would do well as a boards only day out if we reserve a decent chunck of the day with a course.

2 hours would suffice and you could get 14-16 three balls out and you should get societiey prices , i am secretary of my local society and have seen great value out there at the minute but you would want to be booking soon enough
