How much money needed for RTW trip

    Good afternoon folks

    I am heading off to Santa Barbara on March 1st, then on to Thailand and then on to Austrailia for 12 months.

    Staying in SB for 2 months (and working) and Thailand for 1 month (not working) and plan to work somewhat in Austrailia.

    Apart from flights how much money should I budget for the trip. Was thinking 15,000, but this involves me taking out a 7K loan, would 12 or 13K be enough. I dont want to be left short either.

    What did other people bring with them?

    how much have you spent? i'm planning RTW trip with my friends as well, but not sure how much €€€€€ do i need for 1 year?

    im also planning a rtw trip. have budgeted €8K for interrailing, and asia for 8 months. will have €7K when I land in Oz then travel some and work lots to save for the americas on the way home.
