Ford Focus power loss

    Strange one this -

When decelerating to a stop the revs don't drop
    I push in the clutch
The revs drop but now there in no power
It revs to 2000rpm, no more and the car is reduced to a crawl.
Pull over, switch off the engine, restart and all is well.

This has happened twice, within minutes of a cold start. The car is due its first service next week but just thought I would throw this out there.

    Car is Focus 2.0TDCi.

Is it some sort of Limp Home mode? Any warning lights?

It certainly feels like a limp mode, and no, no warning lights.
