Debatable that it's a student orientated city, very debatable.

It's all been covered already anyhow, http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/search.php?searchid=5159343

I normally stay in the Travel lodge (central) ph 0044870 1911656. Its ideally located just around the corner from the bars of Mathew St and the main shopping thoroughfare (Liverpool one complex). The only downside is it doesnt have a residents bar, but as I said, bars are only around the corner.Concert Square is always a great area for a night out too.Liverpool city centre is very compact and everything is within walking distance. You should also note that if your planning on going when LFC play at home, accomodation will be very hard to come by unless you book months in advance.Drink is very cheap, pint of Guinness cost about €3.00, compared to an average of €4.60 in Dublin. Food in Weatherspoons, Tess Rileys and indeed most pubs is also great value.

Shouldn't be much of a problem, The Funky Box just off Concert Square serve until 5.30am/6am.

FA Cup weekend when they are going over so they should be ahead of the game.

ps Premier Travel Inn Albert Dock is lovely and good value @ £65 a night for a double/twin room that weekend. Stayed there many times. Five minutes walk from the city centre but located in a grade 1 listed buildings on the waterfront with plus bars surrounding it. The bars aren't the cheapest but nice play to stay. Lots to do down the Albert Dock too, Beatles Experience, Tate modern etc..,

You've also got Chumbawamba, X-Factor Live or Snow Patrol to choose from in the new Arena :D

Britannia is in a very good location but not the best of hotels really. A bit dated but manageable for a weekend alright..

I'm heading to Liverpool in February and staying in the Jurys Inn, £59 for a triple room per night, can't go wrong!

    That link doesn't go anywhere.....?

I'm heading over at the end of April - approx 12 lads, There is no match on in anfiled that weekend but finding it difficult to get accomodation for single beds at reasonable prices. Don't want to stoop to the level of hostel (bunk beds, one shower between 25, etc) but options seem limited at this late stage.

    Any advice appreciated.

adelphi is a kip but very central, try the holiday inn city center or the liner(formerly known as the gladstone).night life is plentiful concert square is good and slater street is beside it,which also boasts several pubs then you have matthew street which is very popular,or for a change you could head down the docks but this can be very expensive
