    Hi there,

    can anyone recommend any particular shops in NY, Diamon district or otherwise, to buy a ring?? Am heading there in march cannot wait!!! :D

    Hi Farreller24, Congratulations on your engagement! Tiffany's are excellent for quality diamonds and can cater for most budgets big or small. Their diamonds are really stunning. And with the great Dollar rate to the Euro it's a little more achievable to purchase in such a prestigious shop.

    I know people who have got engagement rings in Hannigans and in Salvatores (both in the diamond district) and they would recommend either store. If you don't see what you like they can customise a ring to your taste and normally have it ready within 24hrs.

    Be warned, some of the stores in he diamond district are booths not actual shops!

    thanks so much jules obviously had looked at tiffanys online, and the others halfs friend recommend Hannikens but hadnt heard of salvatores so thank a mill!! all other suggestions welcome!

    re: rings, it depends what you are searching for:

    1. If you have access in any way to a broker in New York, then you should go that route. You can get fantastic deals on loose diamonds and have them set as you like thereafter.

    2. Another excellent route to get a great value diamond and setting for extremely attractive prices is BlueNile.com.
    This is a very reputable company and you should be able to find loads of feedback about this site.

    3. As alluded to before my post, Tiffany's is obviously the well known one and they undoubtedly have beautiful rings and diamonds.

    It all depends on what you are willing to spend and what you expect (i.e. 3C-wise).
