HSE Recruitment Freeze - Clerical Officer Panel

Before I get into this, if this is in the wrong forum can the relevant mod please move this please?

I applied for HSE Clerical Officer Panel back in Sept '06. After going through the aptitude test and having successfully passed through that stage I was then asked to go for an interview in March of '07. I received word back the following month that I had successfully completed the interview and test and that I would be on the panel for a permanent post.

I was (and still am) fortunate to be in a job for the time being which is on a contract basis, but I have had little word back from the HSE regarding a permanent post. They have sent me some e-mails relating to 'expression of interests' for permanent posts, and I have applied for these, but then I hear nothing back. I have called & e-mailed them requesting to know my place on the panel or of word of the above mentioned permanent posts only to be told that they will get back to me, and they don't.

    1. Has anyone else been having the same problems with the HSE recruitment office & feedback?

    2. Is there a freeze back on for this panel?

    3. Does anyone else think that this panel is dead in the water?

I do know the reasons why, right now I just want to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

You'll probably find this is going to be the case for panels all across the public service, not just the HSE.
I know two people on two separate panels, both very high up and neither have moved in a long time. One of them was unofficially told that nobody from that panel will be taken on in the near future and to go get herself another job

I applied back in Oct for HSE Multi Task Attendant's for Portlaoise/ Mullingar. Paper said the interviews were being held in January 2009. Post should be filled before May 2009. I heard nothing, so forgot about it. then in late March I was sent an appointment for an interview in Tullamore HSE offices.
It went very very well and i felt confident leaving. I was again advised taht the post needed to be filled my May 2009. I had unnofficially applied for this post twice before in the last 5 years. But this time The Public Jobs.ie website advised me of it and the papers did too. I officially applied. Its now 7/5/09 and i have heard nothing. They could late filling th eposition as they were late holding the interviews, or else the recruitment freeze has put an end to it and they have not bothered to advise people.

Does anyone know when recruitment might start again for the full-time Clerical Officer Panel?
