ReplayGain query

I'm using ReplayGain wth Foobar2000. Its working well from the point of view that all cds I have ripped to the hard drive so far are played at the same volume. Thing is though, they are all considerably quieter than they are if I played the actual cd itself. I realise that's the point of ReplayGain but I doubt there is a need for ReplayGain to reduce the volume to the extent that it is.

So is there any way of setting ReplayGain to rip all cds slightly louder? Any way of upping the gain that ReplayGain uses (if that's the correct terminology!)?

This will also be an issue if I want to burn compilation cds - those cds will be a lot quieter than original cds, which could be a bit of a pain...

    Cheers in advance.
