Is it ok to transfer money from an AIB account to a BOI account? Once I have the sort code and account number?

If you want to do it on paper dockets in a branch AIB will insist that you have a BOI lodgement slip that has their customers information preprinted on it. If the person you are lodging money to has a lodgement book with those dockets, or a lodgement docket from the back of their cheque book then get it from them and you are laughing.

If you have online banking then you won't have to go through any of that, you can just send the funds with the bank information.
