Hey, i'm looking to get into road cycling and joining a club, and i need to get myself a road bike. I'm 6", would fit a 58 or so frame, and have a budget of about €400. Anyone looking to off-load anything that fits the description?

You might get away with a 56. Have a look at the BeOne range on www.chainreactioncycles.com

PM if you are interested in a bike. I have a mate is is selling his. He's only used it 3 times as he does mountain-biking as well.

I've been looking at them, and the claud butler san remo, the claud butler criterium and the dawes 300 on www.bikeoutlet.co.uk , what do you make of them? I don't want to break the bank, but i've been doing about 200km per week on a hybrid, and feel that i'm ready for a step up.

Another question, I've been looking at loads of online bikes with Shimano FC-A050 components. I presume these are the most basic of Shimano parts and would be better off looking at something with tiagra or sora, or do I have it wrong?

No, you have it correct, but you might want to start at Tiagra or stretch it to 105 if you can, my first road bike came with 2200 components on it, which is below the sora range. Apart from the front derailleur, it is all 105 now, with Tiagra shifters. I had to hunt this stuff down on ebay, adverts.ie etc, to get the most competitive prices, so you are better off paying for it from the off, which I learned on my second road bike which is Dura Ace components from Planet X

Thanks, but with the focus summit shown above, for a lot less money, you seem to get a better groupset, so i think that this one might be out of my budget! Cheers for the offer though, it is appreciated.
