I need a job... but there are none! Two jobs that I was due to sign contracts on have fallen through due to staff freezes, most places wont even get back to me even though I'm fully qualified (I'm presuming they're going internal) and there's very few jobs advertised these days :(

So Im sitting here wondering has anyone else in AH been left jobless this weather?

Nah I think you're the only newly unemployed person in the country.

There are 200000 immigrants working in Ireland, if they were not here you would have a job. I said this all a long but all I got was 'your a racist, nazi etc'. Ye can enjoy yourself's on the 202;)

I was demoted in December as part of cost cutting. The guy I replaced was put back doing my job and another job was "created" for me.

Im glad Im not out on the streets TBH.

......most places wont even get back to me even though I'm fully qualified.....

Are you just looking for jobs in the field you are qualified in? My job isnt looking particularly stable at the moment, and if I do lose it, there is no chance of getting a job in the same business, but im willing to work anywhere. Have you checked newsagents/video shops/supermarkets etc.?

Trying all sorts of places, Im a qualified barman, worked in a bank (hence the unemployment), Im qualified to audit small business' worked in shops years ago doing customer service part time, Im fairly handy around the house... seems Im too under qualified or overqualified for any job Iv gone for- Ill do ANYTHING (almost anything!) at this stage!

I know (through feedback) my interviews are going well and I found out through an internal source from one company I went for that they cancelled other interviews as they had chosen me for the position, but then a higher power closed the position completely.

That's not good. I've seen a good few people laid off from my office, and they just go around looking for jobs they are qualified in, all over the world in fact, with no success. I told myself if when I do lose my job, i'll work anywhere, surely theres some menial jobs left that nobody wants, but obviously not.

And all the Irish in Australia & America can be sent back here. How many jobs would there be then?

    Any more stupid ideas?
