    Hey guys,

I do weights 3 times per week with no cardio but I want to start cardio to lose some excess fat around the stomach and chin area without eating in to the muscle I've gained recently.

My question is how much cardio should I do i.e. how many times per week and for how long. Also, should I start off with 'heavy' sessions for the first few weeks and then drop down?

Thank you in advance for responses

Prob the best way to implement "cardio" without atrophying the muscles would be to do CrossFit style metcon workouts, i.e. timed workouts with weights/bodyweight exercises rather than monostructural LSD type work.

A Cindy is a great one to start. Perform as many rounds as you can in 20 minutes of 5 pull ups, 10 push ups, 15 squats. You can shorten this down to 10 or even 6 minutes and treat it as a sprint.

As for gut, are there dietary improvements you could make?

In the exact same boat as you my friend. After New year's i cut out all the sugary stuff (or stuff that can be considered bad for you) out of my diet. I changed my diet to alot of chicken, pasta and rice. I don't do any cardio but weights do burn off fat. Already i'm seeing signs of improvements.
