Math-Indie band from Oxford, UK. For fans of The Smiths, Radiohead, Foals, Maps & Atlases, Russian Circles, Daughters. They are doing a small tour of Ireland in February.

    Their pretty special.

If you like them I suggest you try Youthmovies, simply for the fact that they hold the best band in Oxford title, ahead of Foals, TTNG and Jonquil.

But TTNG are definitely a band that are bound to produce a superb second album. Animals gets a bit samey after a while of extended play.

A few of their best tracks (eg Wanna Come Back to My Place...) don't appear on it so it's worth checking those out.

    ... are savage.

the S/T release is my preferred choice so far, but will give Animals another go. Defo heading to the gig anyway!

    edit: i like the poster

Gonna have to disagree - that accolade goes to Ride. :)

Well ok, they've broken up. Best band to come out of Oxford though... (in my opinion).

Just listening to TTNG and they sound amazingly like Q and Not U in places...errrr.....even a bit too much like them.

I still like it though. :)

    Adebisi Shank absolutely rock!

I'm getting to like this sort of mathy-emo stuff that seems to be popping up all over the UK. Tubelord are definitely worth checking out too.
Outside of the UK, there's Algernon Cadwallader

Oh yeah, Yevveh, give Meet Me in St. Louis a listen. They were This Town Needs Guns' labelmates (on Big Scary Monsters, along with Tubelord and Blakfish and Yndi Halda etc.). It's just manic and unpredictable post-hardcore with rather nuts time changes.

Oh yeah, Yevveh, also listen to Pulled Apart by Horses. From Leeds (stamp of quality right there). Again it's bloody manic stuff. Noisy art-punk. Not sure if you remember the Mother Vulpine or not, but there's one or two members from that lot in PABH. Dinosaur Pile-Up are also great and have one or two members from the great Mother Vulpine.

All those releases will be gotten after my exams. Yndi Halda are also great, I think they've a new release coming out this year. Don't know Mother Vulpine at all but if you say they're good I'll trust ya. Thanks for the tips!

Just wet myself after reading that Ten Past Seven (my cousin's band) are supporting This Town Needs Guns in Limerick next Saturday.
