    Hi,

    2 Things:

I have an idea for a portable home security device that I reckon could be a winner. How would I go about building a prototype of this and stopping someone from ripping off my idea? Then what next?

I also have a good website idea that I reckon could be a hit. How do you go about setting up a fully functioning webpage with sponsors etc.

Thanks guys - all help appreciated.

    Hiya,

About setting up a website, over the last 6 months I have being doing this myself.

Trying to raise money for Crumlin hospital using the website. What are the main pointers you are looking for?

One question on my side, do you know if the rules around handing out flyers has changed lately.

You can protect your idea/product from being ripped off by taking out a patent on it, this can be an expensive and drawn out process though, you can also use the patents office website to see if there are any other devices out there that might be similar to your own (patents search), there are different territories for patents i.e. Irish or US or International
    see:

    and

With the website idea you should have a clear idea about what you want to achieve and the content that you want to place on the website, the target demographic, domain name TLD type, your budget, how you are going to raise revenue from the website and realistic expectations.

Sponsors -the easiest option is probably running Google ads, however the revenue from this may be limited, if you want to recruit specific advertisers you will need to be able to demonstrate stats such as the number of people visiting your website, these kind of stats can be achieved using website analytics.
