recommendations for painter who can colour match after rust repairs (no paint code!)

    Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a paint or body shop who can blend in fresh paint after a rust repair?

There's a few rust spots bubbling on my 69 karmann ghia. I have POR-15, filler, and primer etc, so i plan to do the prep work, and then bring in to a pro for colour-matching and lacquering.

I don't have the paint code, and don't think its a vw colour anyway. I haven't been able to colour-rmatch properly using custom cans from vinny byrnes. Even the sample taken from the petrol cap was way off.

Any idea how much this type of repair might cost?

sample areas below - bonnet, and headlight. other headlight is similar, but not as bad.

    tks for help!

I had partial paintwork done by Austin Hill Motors in Blackrock (Dublin).

They mixed up a perfect match for my colour as they couldn't get an official match.

More info in this thread I created at the time. :)
