    Hi all,
I'm looking for an online e-marketing course and found this one - I would be grateful to hear what you think... esp. those e-marketing experts out there ;)

    http://www.coursecatalog.com/dbpages/courses.asp?CategoryID=10&SchoolID=513

The two that I was looking at are 'e-Marketing 1.1' and the 'Certified eMarketing Associate Certification (CeMA)'.

Possibly you get what you pay for - I can't afford much so would be looking at these types of prices.

Also, anyone recommend any other good ones????

Any help would be hugely grateful, thank you

I can't comment on the mentioned courses not having taken them, but the question you need to ask about is what result are you really after? Are you looking for the knowledge or some sort of qualification to get a job with?

For knowledge check out the below blogs and i'm sure other boardies will help out with links:

    www.internetbusiness.co.uk - e-commerce
    payperclickjournal.com - PPC advertising
    www.seo.com - Search Engine Optimization

eye if its knowledge then the web is full of use full resources like googles webmaster blog etc... bear in mind tho... no one is going to give away the techniques which actually work i.e all you read is diss information also there is no set method of how to do web marketing... hence why so so so so many people are trying it....

Id go with a certified qualification what ever you choose... also try and get some work with a marketing agency... youll learn everything you need to kno in about 10 years!

Ive been doing it now for 5 years and there is still so much to learn!

firstly are you web savy? i.e can u make, host and develop a dynamic website...? if not start there... web design and development - that will open seo doors... if not start there...

other than that mate its all about trial and error!

Good luck bro... If your skinto then perhaps trying to get some unpaid work in the sector would produce the best results then take your experience to a paid position! or set upyour own Co...

Good luck mate... dont give up - seo is a pure gold mine!:pac: - youll have that boat in no time!

Thanks for your replies - very helpful
Fancy Dresser - I guess I'm after both (the knowledge & the cert). I do find the structured approach of pursuing a course & having X, Y, Z to learn & then a test will help me focus. Sometimes I find there is too much information on the Internet to disipline myself, follow through to learn something & then to apply that knowledge.

Dietcola - yes I am web savy, I have created basic websites on app.s like FrontPage & Dreamweaver. I am happy to continue trial & error with these, however I would like to do some sort of course along the whole E-Marketing (not just SEO, but also integrated marketing online - email, ads, etc..) to help improve me knowledge & area here as well as upskilling for (hopefully a) future job.

thanks again for your responses - if anyone else can make any other recommendations, that would be brilliant. The reason I'm looking online is that it may allow me to study it at my own pace..

lol.. glad your finding somehting of use...

its good that your trying... keep it up!

web marketing (new media marketing) does encompass so so so much... PPC campaigns, web development and design, link building, etc etc etc they are all rolled into the unbrella term of seo... essentaily all the elements combine to produce (hopefully) one forward facing organisation which can compete for the top spots... however the search engines want organic serp lists so if they figure out that seo is taking place the do take u off the list completely and one must start all over again... you will never get to the front page of a serp list on your own... unless you know something i dont... well actually u can but it would take so so so much time and effort you would litterally have to work 18hour days!

web marketing is all about spotting the opportunity and taking full advantage of it.. email campaigns are spam, spam will never succeed youll get about 10% back which is ok if you hit enough addresses...

other than that mate im prolly just chatting ****... nearly home time now tho!

keep it up mate... everyday youll learn something new and it gives the whole thing a new spin!

    Peace out:p
