    Howya Folks?
Had a look through the threads but can't find a thread relating to this maybe someone can point me in the right direction or answer for me.

I've noticed that no matter what picture setting I have on my TV (widescreen, 19/9 etc) there is a portion of the picture missing on the left and right hand sides, running vertically top to bottom.

Any suggestions or can I do anything.

    Thanks

Is it just the sky channels affected?

Are your terrestial channels ok or if you play a DVD, is that ok.

Want to rule out something wrong with your tv, as sky is working fine and I don't think any of the picture settings on the skybox will affect the picture in the way you describe.

    Thanks for the reply Avns1s.
    DVD and terrestrial are OK.
Tried to watch that Mel Gibson Apocolypto film the other night but gave up as some of the subtitles kept being cut off.

Go into picture settings in the services menu, and make sure that the output selected is 16:9. I suspect it may be set as 4:3, which would crop the picture on the sides.

Garry, Gadgie is right. I misinterpreted your first post as saying that there was black margins at the sides of the screen.

The 4:3 setting will cause your problem. As Gadgie says, go into the services menus > picture settings and change the output to 16:9 and you should be sorted.
