Light beers...

Before the screams of blasphemy start, just read the post and have a think.

My moobs and belly are getting bigger, and my love of beer is not helping.

Was thinking about giving up beer and moving to stout (or would this be worse for the moobs?)

Then was thinking of light beers....

I don't know...Might not be taken seriously...and would get the p1ss ripped out of me.

    Any thoughts?

Think the stout would really speed up the moobage tbh ...

I used to be quite fond of my beer but now kind of stick to light beers as I dont drink as often ..

I find after a few light beers you dont get that heavy bloated feeling the next morn .. Miller ftw ^^

Yes, I'm thinking that I won't take you seriously and will instead rip the p1ss out of you.

It is not acceptable for the wimmins to drink those liquids (see, I can't even associate the B-word with them), never mind men. You have moobs and a beer gut, rejoice in them, be round, be proud!

However, if you're serious about this I have it on good authority that there are less of those calorie yokes in a pint of Arthur compared to a pint of lager. This means that if you're sticking to a strict number of those yokes a day, you can have your pints and still have a few in hand for that kebab on the way home.

Now be off with you and no more foolish talk about those liquids, you hear?

I like my gut...just don't want it gettin bigger.

    Would drinking cider be better?

I think the Nutrition & Diet forum would actually be better, tbh. Seriously, you won't get a straight answer in this forum to a question like that. :D

Are you a pregnant lady? That's the only acceptable time to consume light beers.

There is no such thing as Light "beer" because them two words are or should be Mutually exclusive.

Tom Dunne, the ladies are plenty able to drink real beer, send him to the Clearisil and Hormones forum. they drink ****e anyway, being teens and all!!!

    I don't like any beer.

I'm just taking one for the team. You can thank me later.

Definitions of light beer on the Web:

lager which is three quarters empty and thus in need of immediate replacement/replenishment. May also be seen as being one quarter full.

Na the mods are busy drinking their light beers and gin and slimline tonics, while eating a salad with low fat dressing and thinking they might allow themselves a turkey rasher at the weekend....

Just stick to beer (the proper stuff) but put your pint on the table the opposite end of the pub to where your sitting. When you want to have a slug get up walk to it, bring it back to where your sitting take your slug walk back and replace it. That should give you some bit of a work out to reduce the moobage

pffft - light beer faciliates alcoholism without the attendant weightgain

if it actually tasted all right i wouldn't have an issue with it tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,770 ✭✭✭Bottle_of_Smoke

had a few cans of bulmers light one time. Tasted really chemical esque and even less like cider than bulmers

do some weights and the moobs will go away

Jesus man what's wrong with you? Coming in here and asking about light beer is as dumb as going into an early house asking for an asprin.

Belly and moobs are a cal in versus cal out thing, nothing to do with beer as such. There's no fullfillment to be had supping at the alter of the false gods known as miller lite, coors lite and bud lite!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭Don1

Just another thing that came to mind about these hideous creations:

    Most (if not all) the popular "lite" *shudders beers are American which highlights two very valid arguments against their very existance which are;

    1) Americans know feck all about brewing good beer and as such anything they create shoud be widely ignored as a rule

    2) For a country that guzzles more of this stuff than any other nation they are still on average remarkably fat, which doesn't speak volumes for their success

    Slightly OT
the government have reduced excise on low alcohol beers and ciders so in these times of recession is it worth considering them or would one find it impossible to drink enough to enjoy it ?

    OP
if you want to loose weight Vodka is yer only man or give up on some non-essentials like fruit, vegetables and bread

I read (from a fairly reputable source) that the beer does very little damage.

Keep an eye on the donor kebab and garlic cheesy fries (how the fu*k do people actually eat that crap).

Generally I tend to try and keep it in the wrapper as I eat it, otherwise it may drip a bit. The best ones come in a silver foil thingamy that you can peel back to expose more kebab without losing any of the goodness within.

It's a bit of an art form really but practice makes perfect.

Guinness is relatively light on "carbs" as our American friends say, certainly lower than lager:

I know belgian tripples I was just saying more like "what the hell are you talking about? nonsense" to write off a really excellent umbrella of beer and wine in one sentance.
