    Hi folks,
After doing a bit of searching, I'm looking at either Samsungs LE46A656 or Sonys KDL-46W4500

Only £150 between them, so not sure which one?

    /edit
Also came across the A856 which has a LAN port, but the reviews mentioned it sucks in a bright room (reflections from both the frame, and the screen itself), so I think I'll give this a miss, unless the reflections happen in all LCDs.

    46W4500 £1,150
    LE46A656 £1,000
    LE46A856 £1,300

    46W4500 - http://www.prcdirect.co.uk/productlist.php?cda=productlist&sort=feature&search=KDL46W4000U+

and see the bargain alerts thread for how to get a UK courier to pick it up for you given that the company will not deliver to ROI.

Sorry, wrong TV..... i'm sure i saw a 4500 somewhere for 981 from a website that would not deliver to ROI but the link in the bargain alerts would resolve that ... paid 1150 myself (being delivered on Monday) and then saw the link in bargain alerts and was kicking myself

I was asking the same question to RicherSounds.ie re the 40" of these. RicherSounds recommended the Samsung. Main reason was price, followed by the Samsung could tune each interface and the Samsung was somewhat better on SD which most of will be using for some time to come. Check out the reviews at Review is here http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk for the Samsung Vs Sony. They may not test the same size you need but you will get the idea. I am currently voting for the Samsung.
