    Hi all,

I'm currently trying to book our honeymoon for 4 nights in Vegas and a week in Cancun. Just a few questions...

    MGM or Bellagio?
    Secrets Capri, Cancun?
    Good site to book through?

I have got numerous quotes ranging from E4200 up for 2 people. However that quote for E4200 was for the Dreams in Cancun as the site did not have the Secrets and I have my heart set on it! Most quotes were approx. E5200...opinions?

    ANY advice greatly appreciated!

    :)

bellagio before mgm grand every time. bellagio is second best hotel in vegas after wynn, mgm had a better pool area and more restaurants but bellagio beats it in every other aspect. bellagio in better location too

http://www.travelaxe.com is a good vegas hotel site, better yet keep an eye out for special hotel promotion through http://www.smartervegas.com/

+1 for Bellagio, although I didn't stay there, the public areas are stunning (I especially loved the conservatory, they theme the flowers according to the season) also the location of Bellagio is hard to beat, slap bang in the middle of everything. I didn't care much for the location or anything else about MGM. For your honeymoon, Bellagio is a lovely romantic spot. I'd also recommend looking on www.fatwallet.com for discount hotel rates. They really can save you a fortune.

As for Cancun (again, I haven't stayed in this hotel) but isn't Secrets a bit far out of the action? If memory serves, Dreams was in a better location (I wanted to stay there and couldn't afford it :()

For Vegas, Bellagio gets my vote. The relatively new Palazzo is another
    I'd consider.

Forget Cancun, look at Playa del Carmen just a 45 minutes drive down the Yucatan.
    Less American riff-raff. ;)

Absolutely! Playa del Carmen is waaaaaaaay better than Cancun.

Make sure to visit Maroma beach. It's paradise on earth!

    Thanks for that.
All the agents have recommended Dreams or Secrets but I've seen lots of bad reviews about the Dreams...that's why we were thinking about Secrets.
Any recommendations for hotel in Playa?

Most of the large American and European chains are in PDC,
check the Riu selection - they have several properties on the
    beach at different prices.

trying to book something similar myself. with this kind of holiday are you better off booking through a company (if so which one) or doing it yourself? any ideas?

Well I have priced nearly every company I could possibly price and have got the best quote ftom Trailfinders. I have also priced all flights and accom separately and can't beat them. Have you received any quotes yet?

just got one from tropical places/american holidays and it was 4800 for 3 night vegas in luxor and 10 nights in playa del carmen all inclusive.

not bad i suppose but i am going to revert to my budget of way way less i think

My quote from them was 5,202 for 4 night in the Bellagio and 7 nights in the Secrets Capri. The best quote was just 100 less.

Without a doubt I'd recommend the new mandarin oriental.Excelent service and excelent rooms and resort.

    http://www.mandarinoriental.com/rivieramaya/rooms_and_suites/

That would be the best hotel in the area and with the exchange rate and their 5 nights for the price of 4 offer at the moment...about €400 or less a night or €1600 for 5 nights.
That should impress the Mrs :)

OP just wondering have you priced Wynn and in particular its new tower which opened only 2-3 weeks ago called Encore. from everything i have read from people on the ground in vegas encore is supposed to be a step up in class from its sister wynn which imo was a step up in class from bellagio

    Thanks Sav and Ros.
G Ros I haven't but will get the agent to check it. If I could get the cost of Mexico down, I'd be able to go for it!

hey guys, looking at something similar ourselves for the oul honeymoon. Flying into Cancun but am looking at staying in PDC as it seems to be a lot nicer.

Does anyone know if all-inclusive is worth our while if only staying for 4 nights? If not, any recommendations for a nice hotel?

    Bellagio, Bellagio!!

Don't stay in the MGM. Thats if you have to go to Vegas all. Only go for two days. I saw more couples split up there women loose their husbands. Husbands loosing their money, and hence wives... as many as got married really:)

Go to Sanfranciso or San Diego and fly from there with South West for two days to Las Vegas.

Go to the Bellagio. We stayed there and it's amazing, oh and the breakfast buffet .... *droooooool*

Check out their website - they sometimes have specials on so you might get a good deal!

Bellagio for definite. MGM is nice but for your wedding go for the Bellagio

Riu in Cancun or Playa. Try ebookers and do it youself rather than agents. We got great deal last year. Booked the three seperate ie. Hotel in Cancun (Temptation, great but not for honeymoon) 2. Las vegas hotel . 3. Flights: Dub - Cancun -LV - Dub

    ......got good value overall
