i am looking at getting prescription swimming goggles from http://www.aquagoggles.com/

looking at their ordering section, they want to know numerous details about your eyes

the site needs to know your Step Dioptre Calculation.
to calculate this, it seems you need to know your sphere and cylinder

i know my sphere, but how do you find out the other thing, the cylinder?

would it be the optician who did your last eye exam, in this case specsavers?

Yep Specsavers will have that information on file.

    Just give them a call.

Your prescription is your property you can ask any optician for a copy after your test. You never know if your away from home and you loose your glasses you can quickly get a replacement if you have your prescription handy

The cylinder you mention is a correction for astigmatism and the number mentioned after the cylinder is the axis the cylinder is sat at to correct astigmatism.

It's perfectly normal to have a small element of astigmatism

there are lots of sites online you can buy them, if you want to try them on though I would go to your local optician. I got a set from directvision2u.com and the work fine
