    Hi All,

You might be able to advise me what I need to do here! Peugeot 206 2004. Front and rear washers not working and can't hear the motor making noise.

I presume it's the motor? Would this generally be a pricy job?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Check the fuses first .. the diagram will be in the manual.

if it's the motor, you can buy new or 2nd hand from a breakers, not a big job to take out the old and replace the new

Doubt they're frozen if the pump can't be heard.

Check the fuses first as craichoe said, after that I'd suspect the pump is gone. Halfords sell pumps and they're not that pricey IIRC.

Friend was on to garage yesterday, same problem, garage said loads of people are having this problem - the motor is burning out because of people trying to use the wipers when the water is frozen

Thanks for all that .. Think the fuse for that is under the bonnet and not inside, so i won't start messing round with that in the work car park! Will try that later.

Just thought that i got a new battery in it last week and this happened shortly after. Could that have caused a problem or maybe he done something when he was replacing it?

The same thing happened to the mothers VW the other day. Basically its due to the cold snap in the weather. It's unlikely the motor is gone as the fuses act as a circuit breaker to prevent the motor burning out. Take out the manual and check which number fuse controls the washers and then open the fuse box and check if its blown. You'll know its blown if the metal link is disconnected once you hold the fuse up to the light. If its blown replace it. Most manufactureres give you some spare fuses in the fuse box.
