    Hey all,

What is your shooting plan for the weekend?

For me it's an early start and a look for the tree in Marley Park, Dublin (as per thread below)
Though I think it might be cloudy. Might just go for the practice anyway - and hopefully nail it on a sunny morning!
On a cold and frosty morning...

Following that I'm not sure. There's a nice church in Rathgar I might have a look at. Might also have a go at some scenery in the Dublin Docklands area / Grand canal. Also the new building, One Warrington place, is worth a look if you like new architecture.

Next weekend there is some promo / opening thing going on at Castle-something-or-other shopping centre. Out on the m50 near airport. I'll get the details later. Shane from Boyzone will be there. Think I'll stalk him.

    So what's your plan?

The usual three hour escape from Dublin to Waterford today, go for a spin somewhere tomorrow w/camera, followed by pints, a hangover Sunday morning, and another three hour adventure back to Dublin.

Weather on the east coast is supposed to be ok tomorrow morning.
Supposed to be wet almost everywhere, espcially up north, on Sunday.
I'm thinking of having my 400D in the UK and 40D in Ireland, because I keep missing the snow here, but I don't want to risk leaving valuable gear here.

Would have liked to have joined you in Marley as it's just up the road but I'll be in Galways. Hopefully get some good paddling pictures this weekend at Cliften :)

How about a quick and painless gettogether? Nothing too fancy, just some shooting and a coffee afterwards. DL would suit me but open to other locations as well.

qwertz, you seen the forecast for Sunday morning? My sunrise looks like it's gone south for the winter.

It says sunrise at 8:35 and I expect that big yellow whatchamacallit to show up on time. On a more serious note, let's wait and see. It wouldn't be the first time that the weatherpeople lied to us.

Took some photos on the way to the bus on Friday, Saturday was rotten out, nothing more than a day for the pub. I think I took some photos in there, will develop during the week. Today was rotten. Bah.

    :)

Oh - I did get my Super Sampler back working.

I spent two and a half hours in the freezing cold walking up and down the river in Arklow after three swans tyring to get the perfect picture of them leaving the water with their wings spread. 230 snaps later and I still had nothing decent. And when they finally decided to take off what was I doing??? Taking a picture of a bloody horse.

But on the plus side I'm slowly learning what the different settings on the camera do.

Right well, I eh, didn't touch the camera... :(

I did get to woodies/b&q and get supplies for making some DIY lighting stuff though. Beauty dish woo!

I vaguely waved my camera with the inappropriately chosen kit lens at the moon at midnight last night. This was because I had read this excellent guide to the night sky for January.

Plenty of time to study it more...

It took ten minutes of convincing ourselves to get out of the car in bray on saturday and brave the cold and crazy wind, but the need for random beachy stuff was enough to motivate. It was worth it when I found a lovely set of stairs and some interesting walls to point my holga lens at :)

I didn't go to the RDS. Haven't been feeling the best and the weather summed up the mood too. Busy weekend coming up though :D
