Sock fluff - how to get rid of from new socks?

I've recently got brand new socks of different colours from various shops but after a days use of a pair for example, there would be fluff between the toes of the thick kind, this would be case for nearly all the new pairs of socks, how embarrassing is that? :)

Anyway, i've noticed it only happens to darker colour socks and never happens to older regular socks that are well worn or even white ones(which is weird:)) so there is nothing wrong with the feet.
I've heard maybe try washing them inside out before first use, but anyone have the same problem before and how did you fix it?

Was gonna suggest washing them inside out before you wear them :)
