Hi, I just bought a Polar CS200 CAD and I set up the speed and cadence sensors with no trouble at all, and they work perfectly! However, I have tried endlessly for the past hour to get the Heart Rate wearlink transmitter to work! I cannot get it to connect with the computer at all (no heart rate appears, ever!). I have moistened the strap and attached it securely, but no luck whatsoever! It is like the computer cannot see it, why?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Like what should I do? Thanks in advance!

Make sure that it is going on just under your pecs and is nice and snug.

Failing that it could be a dud. Do you have another strap to get the unit with? or another unit to check the strap with?

If you have a really hairy chest trying putting it on your back on the heart height. (assuming that you are less hairy there :P)

Yes, I tried every possible position and every tightness! It's my first HRM so I've nothing to test them with. How much moisture do you need? I ran it under a tap...also, should the computer just pick up the signal (like it says it should in the manual) or do you have to match/pair it the first time, like hold it close or something? What menu should you be in for it to pick up a signal? Sorry for all the questions, but I am puzzled! I am beginning to think it may be a dud! I've sent a message to Polar, just waiting for a reply! Thanks in advance ;)

Have you tried it anywhere other than your house. Some things can interfere with the signal. It's a long shot to be honest, I've only ever seen my Polar HRM go haywire on a handful of occasions over the past two years.

    1. Ensure a battery is installed in transmitter.
    2. Not sure if this applies here but check anyway. New battery powered equipment sometimes have an insulator tab installed to prevent unnecessary battery drain during pre sale storage. If so remove it.
    3. Otherwise try this http://www.polar.fi/en/support/product_support?product=413&category=FAQs&documenttitle=%0AIf+heart+rate+is+not+found+with+WearLink%AE%2B+transmitter&document=/gip/PKBStoGIP.nsf/web_cat/C225742500419A8AC22571FE001E3C1A?openDocument
