I rarely go on holidays. When did it become such a necessity for people?

Christmas Bonus always paid for the Summer Holiday.

This year no bonus = no holiday.

Dunno, just back there after a week away. Might take a week or two around August. Electric Picnic is my next big outing, bar a few weddings i've to go to before that.

Heading to Colombia next week. Then yonder for the rest of the year. I'm actually only on a holiday back home now for Christmas after being in Central America for the past few months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,225 ✭✭✭Ciaran500

    Nope :(

Parents have copped on that I'm over 21 and should be paying for my own holiday, so nothing much planned for this year.

Goin to New York for Paddy's day and the following three days. Always wanted to see the parade in person and get very drunk :) Hope to go to Old Trafford for a match as well. Pretty criminal to be a United fan and have been to Anfield twice (in the Kop) and have never been to the theatre of dreams :(

I think irish holidays will be popular this year. u can get some great bargains in hotels, and u can nearly always kinda talk them into throwing in dinner. Might head to killarney for a long weekend......shopping centre, lots of pubs :P who cares if its raining if your drinking :P

Heading off to Disneyland with the family for a week in March and then off to Europe with the lads on the motorbikes in August for two weeks. Wanted to bring the kids last year to disney but it actually cost 1800 euro more then than this year for the same dates and resort. Recession aint all bad ya know :).

Cuba probably, and most likely the usual Eastern European places.

Yep, as soon as I finish the Leaving Cert and get bored of my freedom here I'll be off :)

Ive always wanted to go to Cuba but none of my mates ever take me serious. That and Venezuela. Do you know that a pint in Venezuela costs about 5cent. You could live like a king for a week and put rounds for the entire pub.
I always wanted to go to a poor country as you can live "richer" without actually being rich. Someday...

I'm considering Antarctica... It's not cheap though.

Just books flight to Berlin for ~ 2 weeks time, fecking cheap as hell.
30€ inc tax for two one way.

Have my eyes set on Germany and Holland this year. Two countries I definitely want to visit. Might try and get over to Poland for a short break, it's been highly recommended.

yup. Heading to London and a few other cities around europe throughout the year:)

Travelled lots last year. Started the year in Melbourne. Saw a bit of Australia, then on to Thailand. What an incredible place. Then I took a bit of time out to drive Ireland when I got back. I did it in such a bad car. The same card that I sold for 1200 euro before I went travelling in actually. I bought it back for 500. :)
Couldnt really get the road tripping out of my system though so myself and some friends took off across Europe in a mate's car. Drove through France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg. I wouldn't bother with Luxembourg if I were you. It's closed on sundays. Tried to drive the Nurburgring but when we went there it was closed for some porsche testing or some thing FFS.
I couldnt wait for the turn of the year so I could get some days off! Looking to go to somewhere in North Africa in a month or so. Nothing booked yet. I don't know what to do this summer. It will have to be pretty epic to keep the wanderlusty depression at bay.

Drink is no where near 5 cents. It's around 80 cents to 1.20 at least and they are tiny bottles/cans. Venezuelans will only drink beer ice cold. So they serve them in small amounts which allows them to drink the whole lot while still cold. Polar is a pretty decent beer. Kinda watery though so you throw them back.

Normandy with the oul' lad, and Liverpool with the lads again.

will both be short breaks. It only cost me 12euro to go to Liverpool earlier this week, so......bring it on again. Budget FTW.

Notice that everyone who is going on holiday is going abroad, shoul we not be doing our patriotic duty and taking our holidays in Ireland and so boost the economy :p

I'm waiting for a nice sunny summers day in Ireland before I go down the country for a few days.

So no I aint going anywhere!

Damn I was lied to by a regular in a pub :( Now I gotta find a new location to be "King for a week".

Next year you can fly Ryanair from Dublin to New York, Boston, Orlando & Washington DC for €10 + taxes

Dublin/New York taxes are only 42.85 so add booking fee 10 + baggage 18 =
    value for money.

Would you fly Dublin to Orlando for so little or spend your hard earned money on a holiday in Ireland?

5/6 hour long haul on ryanair would be just about do-able i think, although some people would disagree.

that being said getting to the states for under 70 euros no one should complain
