    Guys
Did any of you follow the program last year or know of someone? I see they lost some decent weight, well the lads did anyway.

I have to shed about 1.5 stone or 4 stone if you believe the BMI calculations :P

I am 15.5 stone so want to get to 14 stone, get rid of some of my 37" waist and 39" gut :)

So I was listening there in the morning and they reckon they can get a guy from 17 stone to 15 stone in 7 weeks with the plan which they will publish daily on the web with shopping lists and vids for exercise and cooking.

Wonder is it worth a bash?

    Thanks

It seemed to work for the ones who followed it on TV last year. I didn't watch it at the time but got caught up when they went to revisit them a few months on.

I'm going to follow it as well as I can for the next eight weeks. 5'6 and nearly 12 stone so want to get down to about 10 and a half, or even 10 if I can manage it.

Just cut out the junk and up the exercise. If you eat badly and don't exercise the results come quick!

I did the web site for it last year so kind of had an idea of what was going on. It's not sustainable, it's not something you will continue to do if you are not being monitored. imo.

How so? It's not like you have to follow it to the letter - the principles work

    Probably the most sensible advice...

My biggest problem when it comes to exercise is motivation. So with something like this, having a daily video should make it easier to keep going until I get into a habit of exercising daily. Thus making it easier to continue on once the plan stops.

    ++ This :)

However, for many people that's easier said than done and following a pre-made plan is helpful, this is where the TV show and website come in handy :)

To be honest, for ANY program to work you need some will power and real goals.

The website is excellent, it gives the workouts that are needed (squats feature heavily :)) and also helps by providing meal plans and even shopping menus!! Other than getting a personal trainer to adapt the plans specifically to you and monitor you daily I don't see how it could be any more helpful. We have to take some responsibility for our own actions...or inactions :)

The people last year did really well for the most part and from what I can see on the website this year, people are still doing okay.
My only gripe about the show this year (from what I can tell on the website, can't watch the stream in the UK this year :() is that ALL of the leaders have LOTS of weight to lose. Last year there was more of a difference, one of the guys (ex-army fella) who didn't have massive amounts of weight to lose, there was more variation in sizes and weight.

I'd say go for it, use it as a basis for what needs to be done. If you watch the videos for example, the fitness coach doesn't do deep squats, if you can squat deeper for the full number of sets and reps then do, it'll be more difficult but will help you burn more fat in the long run. He also uses bottles of water for weights but if you have dumbells and can manage to squat with 15Kg in each arm for 3 sets of 20 reps then do, if you can't even manage the bottles of water, don't use them :)

In short, adapt the workouts for your level of fitness :)

For all the serious fitness people here bear in mind that this show is taking people who have been couch potatoes for years, it's asking them not to eat food they've relied on for years so we should forgive the odd starchy baked potatoes or the mashed potato serving and also forgive the less than perfect squats in the videos :) Small but constant changes makes big weight loss.
