    Hi,

Started taking the contraceptive pill last month ( dianette)

Took it as directed and thereafter for 21 day. I finished taking it last Saturday and i havent got my period yet.

Just wondering if i dont get my period by next Sunday should i begin the next month pack of the pill or it the fact that i havent got my period something i should check with my doctor?

Pregnancy is not a concern ( i sincerely hope!) as we have been using condoms.

Mine usually takes 4 -5 days to come and lasts about 2.

To be honest I would ring the doctor if there's nothing by Sunday.

I think dianette can delay your period starting longer than other pills. Unless you think you may be pregnant start the new pack on the day you were supposed to.

for the first few months of taking the pill your period will be very un reliable! for the first 2 months I had mine constantly and then for the next month or 2 I didnt get it at all. Turns out that particular pill wasnt suiting me so I switched! Your situation is common tho. Wait until next month and see if you get your period! if not then consult your GP.

Read the leaflet that came with the pill, it should answer all of your questions. If Dianette is like the pill I take, then you take it after a 7 day break regardless of how your cycle is changed. I've never had any trouble taking it but my friend had to stop altogether as she experienced spotting on and off for about 3 months. Drove her crazy!

Hopefully it'll sort itself out, it's not at all uncommon for it to take a few months to become regular. I was just very lucky methinks but I know a lot of women who've needed a few months to adapt to it fully.
