Rather than hijacking the Kilkenny thread I thought I'd try to gauge the level of interest for such a meetup. As sweet-rasmus said, with the small numbers/cancellations etc it would probably be better to join 1 of the main boards.ie beers but if there's enough interest maybe we could organize something. So answer the poll!

    Would you attend? 4 votes

    Yes - definitely

    Possibly- but I might cancel

I'd definitely go, and one of my many new years resolutions is to be on time for things too. :)

I'd love to go but I'd probably cancel, kinda busy with college stuff until May!

I'd have no interest whatsoever in being part of a general Boards meetup but I'd happily meet up with fellow veggies.

I'd definitely go but I'm bedbound as I can't move due to iron-deficiency. And even if I had the energy, I can't stand up because the lack of protein has meant all of my muscles have wasted away and I'd just collapse into a jelly-like fluid like the baddie in Terminator 2.

Seriously though, where is this meat gonna take place?

Maybe if people posted where they're from too? And then we could find a middle ground?...

As opposed to everyone going up to that godforsaken ****hole..

*awaits beating from psychotic veggies brandishing quorn chicken drumsticks*

    lol the irony :pac:

There is no specific plans yet I was just trying to gauge the level of interest on here. I would presume Dublin is the best location if it went ahead because it's easier for people from Waterford, Cork, Galway, Derry, etc to get to Dublin, than it is for all of those to get to... Galway for example.

No it would have to take place in Dublin because you'll never get Dubs to come down the country :p

Are you suggesting a meet up of people just from this board.
There are other veg meet ups in operation in Dublin.
P.S. I had to vote No. I would end up lecturing everyone on the evils of consuming Dairy and annoy you.

Seriously I couldn't take lectures on the twofacedness of being a veggie beef farmer.
People would have to keep their derision to themselves on that.
Seriously. I don't like it but it is my heritage.

looks like it'll have to be an event instead of a veggie forum only thing such as Boards Beers or Dublin meet-ups (am not trying to exclude - i just know that people who help run the vegetarian society of Ireland organise this).

I fancy going to one of those Vegsoc Dublin meets.
