Hi ,as the title suggests ,wondering what sites people use to read reviews of games.
I find myself reading IGN mostly ,but are they all the same or is there more reliable sites ?

Gametrailers.com is a pretty good site for reviewing games. all platforms and big shows etc..

Eurogamer is pretty good I think and not afraid to dish out harsh words (though sometimes, they do go overboard). I also find metacritic.com useful: it compiles scores based on reviews from 10-20 sources and gives an average out of 100. Not an exact science but it does let you see if all the reviews are going in the same direction or if only a couple are skewed toward high scores and the rest slam the same game (which happens more than you'd think).

1up tend to be very good too, but now that's in question because they just got bought out and half of the staff were sacked...

I like the 1up site the most from the recommendations ,eurogamer seems to give ps3 games a hard time.

Gametrailers seems like a good site ,but they seem to give good scores to all the games.

    Cheers.

I checked that one out alright ,didn't really know what to make of it. It looks like it works well and it's a nice site aswell.

I find CVG pretty good too, my favourite site for the latest news also.

I'm a bit of an advocate of www.gamespot.com myself! :)

IGN is my bible. IGN Insider ftw :D

Gamespot is probably my number 2.

But seriously, all you need is IGN :P

As mentioned earlier, there are sites which combine the scores of all the big sites. I find gamerankings very good

I prefer IGN. I used to enjoy Gamepot but their reasoning behind why Gears of War 2 was not even nominated on their 360 game of the year, end of year awards bugged me.

    IGN
    1up

Joystiq is not a bad site either, they don't review that much though.

    +1

No better way to judge than an aggregate on all of the scores from many sites and magazines. Gamerankings is very good imo.
