Something similar happened to me back in 2002 in Andorra (Arinsal). 4 of us were heading up the 4 man chairlift and we pulled the bar down. I didnt get a chance to lift the front of by board up as we were rising. There had been a big dump of snow the night before and the nose of my board got caught in it. As we were rising I was beight pulled from my seat and slid under the hand rail and was clinging on, dangling by my hands. I had to let go from about 15-20ft and fall into the snow. The lads didnt even notice I was out of the chair till the damm thing stopped  !! I was so so embarassed at the time. The lift was stopped, everyone looking to see what happened etc. Thankfully I managed to keep my pants on not like the dude in the photo.:D

Bad lifties!!! That should never happen!! (has happened on my watch, but I blame the old style chair, you know the ones, they requie bumping) Anyway, the way below the lift should be totally clear so boards or skies don't get caught, and the liftie should be watching to make sure people sit in properly and lower the bar pronto!
If somebody falls out or gets caught due to some freak occurance the lift should be stopped uber quick before they end up dangling or having to drop from a height!!!
