Well, I realised I made a mistake....I admit it, I have been with this girl for two months now and we decided we should get an apartment as she was living at home and my roomates didnt like her coming around, we were in love etc etc, fast forward to today and im in hell, we made all sorts of plans and agreed that financially we would pay half and half for everything the usual fair policy, this girl as I found out when we moved in, is very inconsiderate, she lies a lot, she fails to pay for anything and is lazy. She told me all about her junkie past and I was fine with it yet when I talk about mine she gets jealous about my exes, she has had bad experiences with men in the past. I dont know what else I can do, I helped her through everything, I take her out all the time, I do everything in the apartment for her, anytime I tell her to do something she turns it into an arguement and yet again my head is wrecked, stress dosent begin to describe what I feel, Ive done everything for her, psycologically I feel drained and fed up. Worst of all im stuck in a lease for a year and i have only been in dublin 8 months so I dont have many friends....help!

How many rooms in your place? Would it be possible for one of you to move out and then take in a lodger to make up the shortfall in rent? TBH, if you're really unhappy then you'd probably be better off breaking your lease and taking any penalties that go with it, and moving out. Find yourself another flat/house share, and leave her.

did the exact same thing myself mate, it's a horrible situation to be in. I broke it off, and managed to live in the place for three months afterwards in the other bedroom. she was hardly home though, ran off with another fella which was fantastic! :D

i recommend you explain the situation, that one of you has to move out, give her the choice and whoevers staying finds a new housemate. if not, break the lease if you can afford to lose the deposit! but dont live in misery, it's not worth it!

leases always have get out clauses and an ammount of time you need to give notice.
Talk to the landlord and move out.

Im stuck though, my financial situation is dire, its a one bed apt, if i move out I will get no deposit, I could end up homeless

Well, erm, generally before people move out they already have another place lined up. Gotta love common sense!

Listen, you made a mistake, now you gotta deal with it and any repercussions it has. So, yes, you'll be out a bit of money. Get a small loan from the bank and move out ASAP.

I'm assuming a flat to yourself is costing at least a grand a month, so that's 500 you have to pay. If you pay this on the 1st, then time your move to coincide with that, so the money you would normally pay towards rent on the flat can go towards rent on a new place (a room in a house will cost you less than 500 a month) leaving you only needing to get your hands on another 500 to cover the deposit on said new place. Unless you're up to your eyeballs in debt, I'm sure a bank or credit union will give you 500 euro.

I know that, but to have a place lined up you gotta have a deposit, first months rent etc, I have been living here for 8 months, in the current climate you have to have a whopper credit rating and earn ****loads(which I dont) a bank is highly unlikely to lend small amounts such as 500. Dublin is tough as regards to sympathy for you in this. im just really frustrated at how wrong i was about this girl, youd think after years of ****ups you learn about some people, i show the slightest faith and im ****ed over, thank you all for you help, theres just no point anymore

if it's 500 you might be able to arrange an overdraft easily enough without paying insane interest

    good luck

these guys are giving you really good advice so if you just take a minute to read it....... lots of people are looking for someone to rent a room in their house share, if you rent a small single room it should be no more than €300 per month which only means you need to find €100 more than your likely rent and thats your deposit covered anyways so thats definitely an option.
IMO you need to be loaded to rent a 1 bedroom apartment.

You don't have to have a whopper credit to ask for 500 euro! If you have a job, are not riddled with debt then you will get 500 euro! Ring the bank tomorrow, it can be done over the phone, you'll have the money in time to move out before the month is over!
