this is my first plunge into recording with midi and i decided to try and make a dance track just for the sake of it but this midi stuff seems to be a lot more complicated then it seems to me......

im running a microkorg through protools via am m-audio fast track ultra and im trying to use kore player, xpand and izotope idrum. the problems im having with each are as follows:

in kore player i cant get any playback whatsoever even though the lights in kore player flash when i press the triggers,

in xpand i can get playback but its all very distorted,

and in idrum can get it to work in stand alone form but when i insert it into pro-tools it wont play anything.

and NONE of these tracks will record.

please help me! ive allready got serious migraine from leafing through the protools dummies guide, the microkorg manual, and the native intruments faq

    thank in advance for help.

The thing to do is call Support! that's what they're for!! You've probably already paid for support as part of the purchase price.

Pfft having used NONE of these programs, I'm gonna have to guess at these!

With Kore player, if lights are flashing but there's no sound, are you sure you've selected a patch for MIDI output?, ie. does your routing check out? Same with i-drum, make sure you've selected the VSTi as the output. Xpand sounds like your latency buffers are too low...is it lo-fi distortion?
