I think the cost of getting married in the registrar officer in Dublin is about €150.

the fee for meeting the registrar is 150 whether your getting married there or the church.. if you go through a judge you'll have to have a good excuse, pregnant or dying etc.

Don't get me started on this topic! It's €150 to register with the civil registration crowd, only takes 20 mins. The clergy used to do this as part of the ceremony, now you have to pay this AND the celebrant.

Oh and in case you're not known in the area, a signed affidavit is required, possibly costing another €100!

The paperwork alone is costing us €500!

it cost us a fortune too, we're from the city but live in the country, we were only livin in the country a few months so had to be 'released' from a parish that we didnt know and a church we were never in. to marry in our families local church, months of confusion, its ridiculous..

Think the church is trying to maximise the contact people have with them, hard to blame them I suppose... They love their paperwork!

I'm just having the ceremony in the hotel, and the fee is €150 for the actual registration, and then a fee for the registrar to come out. still haven't been told how much exactly that is, but was told 'not much'???? whatever that amount is???? meeting them on the 28th of Jan to make it official, so if I get the price for the call out bit I'll pop back and tell you!
