short selling ban

    Its been reported on bloomberg that the uk finance regulator is concidering to include all uk stocks withinn the short selling ban, Could we see the irish government doing the same with all irish stocks, would the banning of short selling with all irish stocks be benifical to the irish market.

    you really need to read the stories a bit more

    - the uk is lifting its ban on short selling
    - ireland said it isn't

    yep, missread ticker, the FSA is Considering that Significant short positions be disclosed by brokers with ALL uk stocks, i guess the government see this as a way to limit volitily.
