    Was it from the bottom of the pot, not from one of the lugs? If so, it's your ground wire. It should be stripped at the end and the stripped bit in contact with the bottom of the bridge - Take the bridge off and you'll see a hole, that's where the other end of this wire should be.

    So through the hole behind the bridge and then solder it to the bridge itself and not to the pup yeah?

    Don't solder it to the bridge. Just leave the stripped end so that the bridge sits securely on the exposed copper when you screw it on. It doesn't need to be soldered.
