    SmelltheGlove Borderfox Calina? :p

    From the Beeb website.

"The world's three leading news agencies are not covering the series because of a dispute with Cricket Australia.

Reuters, Agence France-Presse and Associated Press have suspended all coverage of the 2008-09 season.

Their photographers and reporters did not supply material from within the ground. As a result, we cannot use pictures from the current match. "

    After a quick Google.

I must confess I hadn't heard which is why I wouldn't mention it.

This is probably part of a wider debate on controlling the flow of information from specific events. I am somewhat tired at the moment, but I'm generally against restricting the flow of information in most cases and I see attempts to control the flow of information in events like this probably coming down to money more than anything. Which reminds me...

Nice to see the large agencies sticking to their guns on this.

    But, where there's a will, there's a way .... a way around the restrictions.

I was in printing college in London back in the day and used to head down to the Oval and watch the Cricket, great days.

I used to live in Kennington flats for a while (next to the Oval), Been to the Oval to watch a ODI before, I made the mistake of not bringing enough to wear and sitting cold for like 7 hours is tough.

We're under strict guidelines for the World Cup this year too. Although there's still 6 months to go so a lot can change in the meantime.

Cricket season is starting in March so should be interesting times.

I know the IRFU have quite strict conditions too, for image usage.

Is cricket that big in Ireland? I know there's the Phoenix Park, and Monkstown rugby club.

This year is meant to be the biggest year numbers wise. Numbers were up last year as a result of the success in the World Cup in the Caribbean but with so many wash outs the season was over before it began.
