bought one of these bad boys at the weekend. i played dvd's on my ps2 on the old telly, the connections to the back of the telly were easy and picture was as good as it should be. now with the ambilight, am wondering where do the cables go. i see the red and white connections but no yellow. on the side there are connections too, when i put in there it says on the screen there is no signal:confused:

do i need the scart to watch dvds or play games??

can i watch movies from computer on it??

modern technology is too much for this old man

    From PlayStation web site:
When you buy PlayStation 2, you'll be supplied with an AV Cable, which you use to link your PS2 to the TV.

    * Plug the colour-coded plugs at one end of the cable into the corresponding jacks on the TV (these are usually, but not always, at the front).
    * The Yellow cord should go in the yellow socket (video), the red into the red (right audio), and white to white (left audio). Note: If you have a mono TV, don't attach the red plug (If you're not sure if your TV's mono, or need more information about this, please refer to the PlayStation 2 instruction manual for further details)
    * Set your TV to the appropriate video input mode (AV channel) using your remote control (* See your TV set-up guide for more information).
    * Attach the AV Cable to the socket at the back of your PS2 labelled AV MULTI OUT.

Your DVD will need scart cable

BTW, yes you can watch movies from your PC on your TV but there are too many options and its impossible to guess what is the best way without knowing what your setup is.

You can either use the scart adapter for the playstation wire or if you plug the connections into the side, press av until you select side on the list.

there's no AV button on the remote though. i messed throught the channels and am now left with a channel that is black and white and crackly:(

where i am there is absolutely no tv reception at all, hence using sky to watch telly.

If there's more than one connection on the tv then there is an AV button on the remote.

Is there not a 'source' button under the standby button?
