The MMA League is back in 2009! The first event of the year will be in the new Kingfisher Sports Hall in NUI, Galway on Saturday the 28th of February. Weigh-ins will run from 10 until 11 with the first fight being at 11:30.
Forms should be sent in by Friday the 20th of February.

After the success at the Dublin Leg, this year will include Teen Divisions; the League has long been a place for martial artists of all persuasions to dip their toes in the MMA ocean, now the League will offer the same opportunity to younger fighters.

Teens will ONLY be accepted in advance, NO registration on the day. The forms must be sent in and include a signature from a parent of Guardian. A permission slip from the parent or Guardian at weigh in.

As always please ensure you are covered by your club's insurance to compete in the League.

Lastly, the bad news! We have been forced to increase the entry fee of the League from 20 euro to 30 per entrant. This is the first price increase since the League's inception in 2004 and is necessary if the League is to remain in existence.

Must try and pop along for a look. What's the cover charge for spectators Mark?

Probably to early to tell but is there a chance for a Kilkenny event as well this year?

It is a touch early, I have no idea of the situation with venue and all the rest, but my hope is to return for another enjoyable Kilkenny leg, assuming the Top Pro guys are interested again, which after the strife of organising the last one they might not be!

We'll organise it again this year mark, We'll have it properly sorted out and not be lost like last year(my first time doing anything of the sorts)

Worst part about last year we agreed to use the hall and all, they never told the caretaker was all that the problem was.

4 weeks left to the League kick off, which means only three weeks to get your entry forms in. Don't leave it until the last minute, get those forms in!
