Ban on Flyers in Dublin???

Hi all,

Just off the phone with Dublin city council who I had rung to check the legality of distributing flyers on a large scale around Dublin.

They put me through to some Dublin litter department who told me that flyers had been banned in Ireland since March 2007 and that there is a €150 fine for EACH flyer found lying on the ground.....

Anybody have any experience with flyers in the last 2 years or so?? There isnt much information online.

The litter act is always there- and it’s true about the 150 per leaflet – that’s the downside.
Leaflet distribution is not banned in Dublin, not banned anywhere in Ireland (Public places - not private property or shopping centres/ stations etc)

The same law applies to Newspaper Vendors and the people giving out Herald AM/Metro and it does to ‘leaflet distribution’ - they are still going strong.

I think the lads/lassies in the corpo (and others) would say mass to get you off the phone.
