Looking for PAYE tax rebate consultancy

Can anyone recommend a low-cost accountant that can help with the hassle of filing a tax rebate application for a PAYE worker for the last few years ?

I know someone who recently did this but paid 400 EUR per year for the last three tax years. Refund was around 1,800 but the cost was 1,200 which seems a bit much to me. Would rather do it myself than pay this much.

Anyone know someone who offers a great service but at a cheaper rate than this ? Ideally flat rate for the last few years ?

It depends on how much work is involved. If for example 2 hours is required that could cost from €200 to €400 depending on the region. Its normally an hourly fee charged. So the more work, the greater the charge.

Best bet is to call your local accountants and get a quote from them. The first consultation is normally free so they can give you a feel for how much work is involved and how much their charge would be.

You can do this on-line very easily if the return is not too complex www.ros.ie and the system is very user friendly.

You can also fill in the figures on a form 11 tax return form and if you submit it the revenue will check the details and do the calculations - their turnaround is probably 6 -8 weeks

there is a cheapo service on www.taxback.com and they charge a percentage( just checked and they are not cheap)

im not an accountant but if you pm me details of the issues i have no problem telling you what you need to do.

BTW - simple tax returns are 100 yoyos - and 150-200 does not seem unreasonable for a complex one
