Hey I'm a student in college... Absolutely dying to get on the slopes again, but our easter break isn't until April the 5th. Just wondering how the snow would be around then, and where would the best place be at that time?

I went to Norway about 4 years ago and snow was great at Easter, but Easter falls pretty late this year. Also, I can't afford to fly around the world to get the snow and there's a few of us going..

I've been skiing in Norway and New Hamphire, and went down double blacks, and a lot of cross country, so I would be looking for a decent resort too..

    Thanks to anyone who replies.

    Hi N1njapirate,

April should be fine this year for Snow, I plan on going back to Morzine\Avoriaz (France) around that time so you could check out that resort. You should also have a look at any resort that has a glacier has that pretty much guarantees Snow of some sort

Val Thorens has snow til May so it's a good bet!

www.snowheads.com - these guys have their end of season bash there every April so the snow must be alright around that time.

Tignes is great for late season snow. I've skied there one really hot April and even though it got slushy in the afternoon, there was lots of good skiing. Tignes also has a youth hostel so you can ski on a budget.

I was in Trysil, Norway, last year in mid April and it was just stunning, will def be going back this year. Also check out "Are" in Sweden. The Krona is very low at the moment so it is really cheap compared to a lot of Alpine places. If you want a real blast great conditions, away from the "kids go free brigade" - catch a domestic flight out of Oslo and head right up north of Norway eg Tromso.... lots of info on visitnorway.com

You can be lucky with Trysil - I'd recommend Hemsedal ahead of it though - I've usually had pretty good conditions there - even late in the season.

I went to the Stubai glacier in Austria at the end of April last year, it was still snowing like 3 of 7 days or something. Plus the gear rental was way cheaper.

And of course, there is always the classic: Tignes in France. You can ski in August on the glacier there.
