Problems viewing channels on Sky Digibox

We have quite an old Sky Box and recently have been having huge problems viewing stations. We can rarely get Ch4 and all it's subsidiary stations lately either. Has anyone else ever had this problem and do they have any solutions - it's HUGELY frustrating and having had some very negative experiences ringing Sky CS (not to mention expensive phone bills) just could not be bothered contacting them. (Did email but obviously received no response). Very seriously considering cancelling Sky altogether but think have to give them a month's notice and want to be able to view channels am paying for!
