Turbo Trainers and replacing rear gears

    Hi all,

I received a turbo trainer from santa over xmas and I currently have my RB set up with Vittoria Diamante tyres. I have a spare set of wheels so I was planning to use spare wheel with slicks for TT and continue using existing set-up for outdoors, problem being I only have one set of rear gears.

I dont fancy riding outdoors with a slick rear in this weather or changing tyres any time I wish to go out for a spin or ride TT.

Does it really matter which tyre I use riding TT and if slicks are better is it difficult to fit rear gears to wheel.

    Thanks in advance.

I assume you mean the cassette? It's easy to take on/off. You need a lockring, a chainwhip and an adjustable wrench.

Aerodynamics are also very important on a turbo ...

Buy a cheap cassette -- less than 20 yoyos

Yes, another cassette is probably the cheapest and easiest solution.

One thing I'm confused about is the tyres. I thought the Diamentes were practically slicks themselves?
